Nurse Brandi (Mena Suvari) is driving home after a visit to a disco - high on alcohol and drugs. On a lonely country road, she overlooks a man (Stephen Rea) and hits him with full force. The pedestrian, badly injured, smashes into the windshield of her car and lies there motionless. Shocked and seemingly unable to help, she drives home with the accident victim to think calmly about what to do. She has no idea that the injured man is conscious again and that Brandi will soon be fighting for her very survival...
