Imagine you are lying in bed comfortably reading a thriller and suddenly what you are reading becomes reality - a nightmare. Such is the case with young drama student and avid book reader Virginia (Jenny Wright). The protagonist of her book, a mad doctor, invades her life, terrorizes her and kills her acquaintances. Not even her friend Richard (Clayton Rohner), a police detective, wants to believe that the murderer is said to have sprung from the hardcover edition of a book.
